Advanced Aromatherapy The Encyclopedia of Aromatherapy
Encyclopedia of Aromatherapy

Advanced Aromatherapy is an absolute classic for those interested in increasing their technical knowledge of aromatherapy. Venturing beyond simple aromatics, Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt lays the groundwork with a moderate dose of aromatherapy chemistry.

Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt then goes on to examine the therapeutic aspects of the most commonly used essential oils, and follows up with a diverse and detailed section of therapeutic blending for a wide variety of ailments and conditions.

The high points of this wonderful guide are the concise therapeutic notes of each oil (you'll know precisely which oil is the best for support of the lymph system, or treatment of herpes simplex), and the excellent selection of simple yet profound therapeutic reciepes and applications.

Pleasing to read, yet dense with information. One of the most used reference guide in our library at Ananda for its simple, clear, medicinal guide to using essential oils.

Written by the highly respected holistic aromatherapy practitioner Chrissie Wildwood, 'The Encyclopedia of Aromatherapy' takes its place among a handful of indispensable, well-designed reference books on the timeless healing art of "aromatherapy as a natural medicine".

Appropriate for the range of intermediate through professional practitioner, the 'Encyclopedia' may prove a bit daunting to the brand new beginner, as it is one of the most comprehensive resources on the art and science of aromatherapy written to date.

In this lovely book, Ms. Wildwood discusses all things aromatic, from essential oils chemistry and distillation methods, to natural perfumes and aromatic baths. She includes practical tips and recipes for creating personal perfumes, along with natural beauty products for both skin and hair.

In addition to an effectively-illustrated step-by-step guide to therapeutic aromatherapy massage, Ms. Wildwood teaches specific remedies for a wide variety of common health concerns including 'stress', headaches, and depression.

The Encyclopedia is certainly one of the most beautifully photographed and illustrated aromatherapy guides. It really is a 'must have' for all natural health care practitioners and aromatherapists.

By Maggie Tisserand, a pioneer in the use of essential oils as medicines in the 1970's.

Many therapists have considered the anti-infectious nature of essential oils to be their most beneficial property to the human race. MRSA is a potentially deadly bacterial infection that has become resistant to most common antibiotics, and is hence very difficult to treat.

This book does a fantastic job at explaining bacterial infections in general, and MRSA in particular, from a microbiology standpoint.

Further, it goes on to explain how essential oils can treat these infections, and particularly note the efficacy of "Benchmark Thyme", an essential oil made from 4 different strains of Thymus zygis, which has show to be a more effective antiseptic than tea tree.

Very worthwhile reading for those dealing with the illness themselves or know friends or family who are. As well as practitioners who would like to expand their knowledge on this important, timely subject.

Highly respected educator and world renowned aromatherapist Valerie Ann Worwood has written a wonderful tool guide for everyone with children of all ages in lives.

A must have for every health care practitioner, 'Aromatherapy for the Healthy Child comes complete with essential oil charts; age-specific recipes; and essential oil 'essentials'. Ease of use and intelligent no-frills design make this a must have tool for every first aid kit.

We highly recommend that you take an bit of time becoming familiar with this book as soon as it arrives in your mailbox. This is a powerful allie in supporting your loved one's health. Makes an excellent gift.

Outlines Ms. Worwood's Basic Care Kit 12 'most useful' essential oils: Lavender, Tea Tree, Roman and German Chamomiles, Thyme c.t. Linalool, Ravensara aromatica, Niaouli, Cardamom), Mandarin, Eucalyptus, Radiata, Helichrysum Italicum and Petigrain.
