*From the seeds of a tropical Hibiscus comes this excellent plant-based natural "musk" aromatic. We get many requests for samples of this unique scent, to be used in natural perfumery formulas.

The plant is commonly found in Central and South America, as well as warmer Asian countries. The evergreen shrub produces single flowers, resulting in 5-sided seed pods. These pods contain the highly aromatic "musky" scented seeds from which the oil is distilled.

The resulting essential oil is thought to have one of the most unique aromatic profiles in aromatherapy. Its bouquet and well-rounded nature is seldom seen elsewhere. It is best aged a bit after distillation to create these unique aromatic qualities.

Beyond its use as a natural perfume base, Ambrette Seed essential oil is considered to be a powerful adrenal gland stimulator. We have not tried this as of yet, but it may be interesting to combine the oil with adrenal rejuvenators. An example stimulating/rejuvenating formula would be, in Hazelnut oil, 5% Wild Pine Essential Oil, 5% Black Spruce Essential Oil, 3% Ambrette Seed CO2 and 2% Cedarwood. The combination could really help those not feeling their morning coffee any longer, though should not be used much after noon as to not keep one awake at night.

Through this action, Ambrette Seed may be used for treatment of anxiety, depression, nervousness and stress related conditions. Ambrette Seed "Musk" essential oil is also considered an aphrodisiac, and can be included in any natural perfume blend for this purpose — as always, go slowly when creating this type of blend as to not allow any one aroma to overpower the rest!
